We repaired a c1920's Miller table lamp
The metal body and base showed considerable surface wear and oxidation.
The finish was dull, likely due to age-related tarnish and loss of the original paint or patina.
Some decorative details remained visible but were muted by grime and aging.
The socket area at the top was present, but some parts were missing. The top metal components showed more corrosion and discoloration than the body.
Structurally, it was solid and upright without noticeable cracks, major dents, or warping. Luckily, the ornate floral design work on the base and midsection remained intact.
There was dirt, dust, and some surface corrosion, suggesting it had been in storage or exposed to elements for an extended period.
Restoring this Miller table lamp involved stripping it down, replacing the missing sockets, repointing and retouching the details, a fresh paint job, and rewiring with a period-correct UL-listed Rayon cloth cord.
